To the question of the role of health-improving nutrition in the prevention of elderly diseases

Анотація


Biological ageing is a complex, multifactorial process, in the course of which vital functions gradually deteriorate with the development of irreversible polyorganic pathologies against the background of morphostructural breakages accumulation. Presented material focuses on the positive effects of adequate nutrition on the major organ and tissue disorders, the activation of effective self-regulation in a comprehensive health management and longevity. The paper discusses the basic principles of rational nutrition in adulthood, as a pledge to improve the quality of health and ageing process. The paper gives practical recommendations for the correction of the most common morphofunctional disorders in over-60 population with the help of diet, regime of nutrition and available paramedical ways to control their therapeutic and preventive efficacy. Authors suggest several diets variants to choose from as an integral etiopathogenetic component. Attention is focused on the relevance of carrying out activities in the prenosologic period aimed to prevent disorders that can contribute to disability and the socio-psychological disintegration of an elderly person.
